Recuperating is a bit boring

Hi all. Just wanted to pop in and let you know I'm doing well. Surgery went well, and Iwas sent home with a lovely bandaged foot enclosed in one of those wooden type shoes with velcro closings that wrap around the foot. I asked for hot pink, but black was the only selection. Oh well.............

Am following orders by keeping it elevated and iced. The first couple of days, I took the heavy duty pain meds that made me sleep most of the time, but was able to give them up and just take Advil at prescription strength doses.

I should be knitting or something, but I've mostly watched mindless TV.

My knitting friends are coming here in the morning to visit and bringing pastries; that will be fun, and I'm sure I'll knit some in between conversation.

Back to doctor this Wednesday. Hope to get bandages off and sutures out so I can take a real bath/shower again!

  2. Yikes - foot surgery! I have a feeling I am well on my way to a bunion myself so I can commiserate with you. I hope your recovery continues to go smoothly. Just remember to milk it for all it's worth!! ;)

Mindless tv really does have its place when you do well to just be able to vegetate and doing anything at all hurts. I am glad you are out of pain enough to post. Take care of yourself. This is probably one of those times you can't be smart and do it all so just knit when you are bored or want to toss something at the 100 channels of nothing on television. All the projects will wait for you until you are recovered totally. mssewcrazy

  4. sorry to hear about your foot surgery. Both DD and I have had major foot surgeries and I know they are not fun. Hope everything heals well and you'll be literally "back on your feet" again soon!
