I AM Sewing....just not blogging

I'm not sure why, but sitting down to blog has just not inspired me.  I have been sewing....some.....and I will take photos to show you.  I've made a Burda long sleeved T (which is too hot to wear now), muslined the Hot Patterns Marrakesh pant (and I like it, so I'm waiting for some brussels washer to arrive to make them up), a Louise Cutting Hearts a Flutter top (I think this is #4), and a pair of Louise Cutting's Relax a Little capris (which still need to be hemmed and the elastic sewn into the waist).  Seems like I muslined something else, but I can't remember at the moment what.

Vegetable gardening and yard work have taken up much of my time.  We've had many days already in the mid 80's (which is a bit unusual for us in March) so the grass has been coming out and the weeds seem to have gotten TOTALLY out of control overnight.

I have two garden areas.  I added some nice compost this year to both areas (that was after I got all the weeds pulled from both areas - my aching back!) and I have planted tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash, cantaloupe and onions so far.  I may still plant some green beans.

I have been guilty of adding more vintage patterns to the stash.  I go through spurts of stalking E-bay for some good ones.  Wanna see?

McCalls 4364, copyright 1941.  I just love this one.  My waist won't look as tiny as the model's and I don't have a hat resembling either of the ones shown, but........I hope I will get to this one at least for fall of this year.  I'll go with the 3/4 sleeve and maybe in a silk of some sort.

Advance 7012 - no copyright date. I'm not super into this dress in particular, and I'm not really a short jacket person, but I have several of the "Movie Star" patterns, and I just couldn't pass up Gloria Swanson!

McCalls 6308 - copyright 1945.  Isn't this one great?  I just won this one last night so hopefully it will be on its way to me shortly.  I definitely plan to make this for this summer.  My tummy probably doesn't really need the "bow" effect, but I think this one is just so pretty!  I hope I love it as much when it is completed as I do now.  I don't think I'll be in the market for the pom pom hat--did they really wear those???

Oh, and I still plan to add a photo of my last vintage dress of me WEARING it.  I've been bad about taking photos too during my blogging blah.

  1. Oh my, I love the vintage patterns. I'm really feeling confined and snippy right now. I'd love to be doing the gardening that is occupying your time, but my weather is not yet permitting. Do make up 6808 soon. I think that is awesome.

  2. I know blogging blah. Sometimes it's a chore rather than a pleasure. It passes, just like lost sewing mojo. Your patterns are wonderful. Fun to look at, even if they don't get sewn right away.
