The "pretty fat" donkey became a Mom on July 3. Here is "Indy" (yep, short for Independence even though he came one day shy of July 4) at 2 days old.
Here he is about 8 days old.
Both his Mom and Dad were/are spotted; he's not!
Still trying to tame Mom, but she lets me pet him and get close. I just wish it wasn't so darn hot (most days now are triple digits with the heat index well into the 110+), but they stay in the grove of trees near the stock tank (aka: pond). They generally come up to the barn in the late afternoon to get their "treats." I also keep water there for them.
I've been cleaning and sorting in the sewing room. One of my favorite places to fabric shop, Pursley's, is going out of business. I just found out last week, and the discount was at 60% off EVERTYHING. I came home with lots of zippers, buttons, fabric, elastic, and trims. I was able to get the elastic roles with 25 yds. I think I got 6 of them total. Combination of 1" and 1.5" and one roll of black. That should last me and my sewing buddy for a while! I'm so sad to see them retire, but I understand. I will miss them so much!
I've been playing with the Style Arc patterns, and the Peggy Sagers' jeans pattern. Haven't gotten to spend a lot of time in the Sewing room since I competed the Kwik Sew dresses. Once I get the cutting table cleared, I hope to cut out the Style Arc Cargo pant. I have lots of ideas spinning in my head, and sometimes I get so sewing ADD.
Cute baby! I hear you on the ADD. I suffer from that too, especially lately. At least you can blame it on the heat. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, it makes me sad the Pursley's is closing. It's a place I have to visit to each time I am in DFW.
ReplyDeleteI just have to ask if you are in the DFW area, the southwest area? There was a Pursley's in the town where I went to high school.
