I LOVE my sewing freind, Eve. She is an inspiration with a CAPITAL "I" to me. I have several friends that are inspirational to me. For that I am blessed. She has dealth with lots of serious health issues over her lifetime, but is so upbeat, hardworking and happy.
Anyhow, Eve is quite a seamstress. She has owned her own Couture business in years past and studied in France when she and husband were living there with his work. She (and hubby) have raised seven (I think 7--I'm ashamed I can't remember for sure). She continues to sew for them and her grandchildren AND her great grandchildren.
She doesn't drive so relies on hubby and friends to get her to fabric places, etc. Since she sews for so many, she can go through lots of fabric in a short time. Yesterday, we hit the Dallas Harry Hines "garment district" stores. We found some wonderful fabric. Yes, even tho I don't sew as fast as she does, I had to buy some too. She got some lovely silk, great cottons, notions, trims, etc, etc.
I got a lovely pirce of silk that I plan to use for a dress. She made me promise I would get to that one real soon. (She is a good cheerleader for me.) She is also cheering (nagging--her word) me on in my crochet dress project. No more done on that as I I've been gone most of Monday and Tuesday of this week. I hope to work on it at least an hour today.
It was a good, fun day yesterday. Until later......
