The Latest Sweater

I started this sweater last year and finished it in October or November of this year.  I have worn it a few times.  It's wool, and while I love it, it is a bit warm for our "winter weather" to date.

The pattern is from Knitting Pure & Simple and I think was free when I ordered yarn from Jimmy Beans Wool a number of years ago.  If you look at the pic on the website, you will see that in this photo I have positioned the buttons wrong.  That has now been corrected on my sweater, but no photo to prove it. :-)

This is a top down knit - which is about the only kind I choose to tackle these days.  Sewing seams is not what I enjoy.

I'm getting over a cold or some such nonsense and am so far behind in holiday "stuff."  Keep in mind that I don't do lots of "holiday stuff." so what that really means if I haven't finished addressing what Christmas cards I send out, nor finished the pj pants promised to DD and DSIL.  I hope to get those done today.  Fabric is washed and pattern(s) have been found and are on the cutting table as I type.

I've been sewing. and I have been keeping up with many of your blogs (which helps keep me inspired).  I have more ideas in my head than I will ever get sewn (or NEED to get sewn, for that matter).

In my sewing world I keep telling myself what I really want to do is get several TNTs perfected and just sew from them (as Peggy Sagers shows so often), BUT then a new pattern is published, a new photo shown on one of the lovely blogs gets me fired up, or some other lovely piece on pinterest or in real life grabs my attention.  Staying on the TNT track is easier said than done as many of you know.

Here's to "surviving the holidays One More Time!"  Cheers!

  1. Pretty, pretty, pretty. Love the color.

I hear you about new patterns. I've decided it's OK that I collect patterns. they don't take up much space.

  2. This is lovely and I am intrigued by the top down method. Also I so agree with your "holiday" sentiments.

  3. Beautiful sweater! I, too, like the idea of TNTs, but seldom come back to them after getting them perfected.

  4. Oh wow. beautiful sweater!!! I 've been trying to concentrate on TNT's too but I gave in to the last BMV sale and ordered five patterns. I'm a little mad at myself for my moment of weakness though!
    Merry Christmas Linda.
