Thank you both for taking time to comment!
I like to purchase buttons from Pursleys in Duncanville, but I don't want to make a special trip for buttons as the drive is about 40 miles. So, I will check out Joann's and Hancock's over the weekend.
After I played with buttons this morning, I cut out Kwik Sew 2946,
the shorter version. If the skirt is a keeper, I'll make the top from View A. I'm using a linen blend (lavender if the color is not coming through well) that has been in the stash for a while. After that, it was a bite of lunch and out to hop on the tractor to begin mowing the pasture. Mowing will take me several days, and the weather was cooperative today, so I decided to take advantage. It was only 90 today, and there was a nice breeze.
I have seen several people cut holes in a scrap that they take to the fabric places and use the slits like a buttonhole when they are trying out different ones.
ReplyDeleteI like the burda dress-if you don't find the turquoise shade you want, perhaps red would be good. I am seeing lots of black and red all over the place. I think any one of the brights would work fine if you find a match. There looks to be lots of lime in that print. I also like the kwik sew pattern and the lavendar print-very pretty! mssewcrazy
I like both the turquoise and the yellow buttons. Why not make all the buttons be different bright colors, or alternate the turquoise and yellow buttons?
ReplyDeleteI think I also said that I would probably go with the black buttons as something else would get lost in the print. I stand corrected!!! I love the turquoise buttons!! But then I'm partial to anything blue so maybe you shouldn't listen to me. ;o)
ReplyDeleteThe new skirt will be very cute I think.
