The drive went well. We do it in two days as it does seem soooo long. First night stop was in Springfield, MO - then on in to O'Fallon and coming home our stop was in Oklahoma. It rained on us most of the way, but not heavy most of the time. Fortunately, graduation day was blessed with sunshine!
I got the sundresses (remember the plea to shorten the spagetti straps on two new dresses?) fixed, and had a third dress that needed to be taken in on the sides for a better fit. Had all that done in about 30 minutes that afternoon after the morning ceremony.
She had a job interview on Monday. She said it went well, but I haven't heard the outcome yet. She currently has a job in her field so if this new one doesn't work out, she'll be fine. She will begin her Masters program right away.
After she opened her gifts that afternoon, I surprised her and DD with the socks I had knitted. They seemed to both be thrilled. I let them choose. DGD took the darker blue combo and DD took the pair with the pinks. Here's the photo I got before we left on the trip.
Nothing on the sewing agenda right now. Not sure what's next--maybe a blue (to match the jacket) pair of capris. I wore the jacket open with the dress, as Mssewcrazy had suggested, and I liked it better with the dress. I definitely needed it as the temps were rather cool up there.
When I figure out what's next, I'll let you know!
No Place Like Home! With your stuff. I am a homebody also.
ReplyDeleteWish I could solve my wardrobe needs for the wedding events this weekend that easily. The dress and jacket looked great with the pearls and nice hair -glad you didn't give up on it. I on the other hand persevered on finishing a wadder (bad fabric, terrible fit issues)started last fall that was really a wadder and is now in its proper place. Result I will be wearing two older outfits this weekend on my trip.(sigh) Perseverance can be like flipping a coin in some cases.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Gwensews no place like home with your stuff and in our cases animals. mssewcrazy
