Yes, I'm still working on those socks....
I've also been working on some Chemo caps from knit and polar fleece fabrics. I tried, for the first time, the Gail Brown beret pattern from the Nancy's Notions site. It is really easy, and I really think they are cute! I'll snap some photos this afternoon and edit this post to add them. I used polar fleece for some, some eyelash knit fabric for some, and some plain interlock for one. These are part of my community service commitment for our local ASG this year.
I spent a couple of days embroidering a logo and name on two knit shirts for my cousin. He needed them for his bowling league. I didn't take photos, and he picked them up on Friday. He was pleased, and that makes me happy. I always cringe a bit when doing embroidery for someone else, fearing I'll mess it up. I did get his name (lettering 1.5" tall) off center on one and had to rip it out. BUT, it was satin stitch so was able to get it picked out pretty easily, and it didn't show when it was redone correctly. I'm happy to have done them, but I'm glad they are finished and gone!
This past week has been really busy. I'm hoping to have some "down time" this week to play in the sewing room. I have decided I want to install some slat shelving in the sewing room on a portion of one wall. Now I just have to find some slat board. I've been searching the net for some good buys. I plan to paint it the same color as the newly painted wall. With that, I can put up shelves, bucket type storage and hangers. I'm excited thinking about it; I just hope I can pull it off.
I'm beginning to go through my annual "football withdrawal." Yes, I'm looking forward to next week's Superbowl. I expect the Steelers to win, but I'm pulling for the Cardinals. What a fun story that would be for Kurt Warner and a team that, after years, have finally made it to the Big Game. So, if I have any Arizona readers out there, GO CARDS!!!
Linda those berets are a great idea . I'm going to make the pattern and make copies and take them to Fabricville where I work. Once in a while a customer will ask for patterns such as this for friend or a group to work on as a project. Thank you for the link. Thanks too for your comment on my blog.
