Welcome back to Texas!
I want to take a moment to thank you, George W. Bush, for your eight years of service. As I reflect on these years, the thing I cherish most is that you have kept my family and our great country safe. Not much else matters if we are being attacked. I could go about my daily (often mundane) routine feeling safe. For that, I am so very grateful. Seven years and NO attacks!
As columnist Mark Davis noted: From Guantanamo to warrantless wiretaps to secret prisons to the sparse examples of waterboarding, his assertions of presidential power have yielded seven years of no attacks on our soil...
For many of our country, "To trash Bush was to belong." Debra Saunders San Francisco Chronicle No bashing from me, Mr. President. I continue to appreciate your steadfast resolve.
Amen, Texas friend!
ReplyDeleteI think we all wished the former President well on his journey back to Texas. No ill will here.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your post. I agree whole-heartedly and I think it is too easy for people to find fault in a leader who's position they could never fill.
ReplyDeleteAm just now reading this and feel that President Bush really cared about the American people and did the best that he could with the information that he had at the time. It's always easy to look at hindsight and be critical. However, it is much more difficult to look ahead with foresight. I, too, thank President Bush for his selfless service to our country. May he enjoy the remainder of his days in peace. He has certainly earned it.
