It seems like it was just a short time ago that the world was worried if the computers would work at 12:01 a.m. January 1, 2000. Remember all that hype? That was 9 years ago---wow, NINE years ago.
I've enjoyed reading the blogs of those who have recapped 2008 and set goals, resolutions, affirmations, etc. for the new year. I've thought of lots of things I could write. I have many ideas dancing in my mind, but one of the main things I'd like to strive for in this new year is to "Enjoy the journey/process" of each project. Slowing down is always a challenge for me. Why am I always in a hurry?
The coat is still as I left it in the last post, but I hope to work on it some today (depending on how exciting the football games are today).
My bestest sewing buddy is teaching a sock knitting series, so I have opted into that endeavor. Talk about "enjoying the journey," working with 5 tiny knitting needles has been a challenge, but I am getting the hang of it. Sometimes I feel as if I am Edward Sissorhands with all that metal clicking around. And, yes, I have lost a needle full of stitches, and I've started over a number of times. But that's OK - I'm learning and striving to enjoy the journey!
I used to knit a few simple things way back when. I have been daydreaming while commuting daily about finding yarn and coordinating fabric for a scarf and home sewn tunic on the next road trip where there is any such shopping. Of course by this time of the year it would be a next year project as the cool weather would be done by the time I was. I am not good enough knitting to do anything besides a throw or scarf. Wow socks - that is impressive ! mssewcrazy
