Based on my experience with the shell of the Pure & Simple shell, I cut a size "M" in this Flutter pattern.
For the "wearable muslin" I chose a fabric that has the look of seersucker, but the feel and drape of a rayon or rayon blend. It's been in the stash for a while. As you will see, the fabric is a bit sheer so I may not wear it much, if at all. A cami under a top is too hot for me in the Texas summer heat. Two layers of most anything is too hot for Texas summers. Anyhow, the only change I had to make, was to re-angle the darts a bit. No big deal.
Wearable muslin:

2nd version; pink linen (before the final press); very cool for summer:

And 3rd version: 100% embroidered cotton; bottom band is cut on bias

I think this will be a fun pattern to play with, i.e. perhaps without the cut on bottom band, but a short yoke at the top. I see some fun potential.
Not sure what will be next or when. I have yard work calling as the weather permits. Today it is supposed to be in the low 80's.
You got a lot of mileage out of the pattern, already. Great tops. The white one wil go under a suit jacket nicely.
ReplyDeleteThose will be some wonderful tops for the summer! I love the black, very classy!
