yesterday. I had some nice dark gray stable poly/cotton knit with black open embroidery. I made Sis a skirt (Burda tried and true) cut on the bias with KS 2874. I just need her to try on to see if I need to tweak either, and then I can hem. I've used the skirt pattern for her before, but this is the first for the top pattern. I made 3/4 sleeves. This will be a nice "fall" outfit for her for church, etc.
I also took time to go through some of my "stash bins" to sort fabric. I needed to pack away the "summer fabric" and start looking (again) at my "fall/winter" stash. As ususal, I found things I forgot I had. Go figure. I need to make Sis a couple pair of slacks, but we have a TNT Kwik Sew for that so I will use come of the black matte knit and burgandy Sophia knit (poly/rayon) that I found yesterday for those. She will be thrilled to get some new clothes. She is always appreciative.
Didn't make it to Joanns yesterday. (I sewed instead and I feel good about that.)Maybe today.
I have so many patterns I want to try. I wonder if a set a goal of sewing each one this next year that I would make a dent in the collection? NOT! I quit taking Burda WOF because I was on such "pattern" overload. But I do miss the magazine. Like some of the other bloggers I read who look at Burda WOF as a "fashion magazine," perhaps I should do the same and start my sub again. Maybe that will be my Christmas present to myself for the coming year.
Until next time............
