Yea!!!! The dress form is standing and my fingers are sore! That red index finger is from tugging on the cover's zipper pull while trying to "smush" the foam to fit inside the cover!
Here's the form as it comes out of the box. Pretty scary, don't you think?
I began by trying on the size 8 cover that I ordered to go along with the form itself. Remarkably, it was a pretty close fit as it was. I had to adjust for my forward shoulder, take in the bust, take in the upper bust and take in the waist area.
Instructions say to fit it like a second skin and I felt I was zipping myself into a sausage covering. When I felt good about the fit, I began to try to get that cover onto the form. Yikes, I tugged and smushed and sat on and anything else I could think of to get that darn zipper to zip. And finally, it was done.
Then the instructions say that the cover will stretch, so check measurements, record them and note how much to take in the cover. At the point I needed to take about an inch from the bust, upper bust, and hips and about .75 inches from waist.
I almost cried thinking of taking that cover off and having to rezip it in yet a smaller cover! Here I go again!
And finally.......drum roll please......
Measurements are me, but the behind is more shapely than my pretty flat one. And it doesn't really capture my extra tummy just below my waist. I think I captured my sloping, rounded shoulders. I've been hoping to lose a few pounds, but if it means stuffing that cover again, I think I want to stay the way I am!
All in all, I'm please and I hope I will enjoy using it. I'll keep you posted. Now to name her!
