I picked up the "cut out" capris (that I had cut a few weeks back) from the Ottobre magazine with all the wonderful T's in it. I had cut the size 42. Since my only experience with Ottobre was with the T shirts, I went by the measurements indicated and cut a straight 42. I wanted to sew without any changes to get an idea of how the sizing and shape worked for me. I hoped I would come up with a wearable muslin, but it was not critical since I was using some cotton/lycra $1/yd fabric that had been in my stash a very long time. Here they are:

I think they fit pretty well just out of the envelope (so to speak). I think I may need to make the side seams a little deeper. Think? Not sure about what the wrinkles are trying to tell me. Maybe a good pressing job might help?
Since this was a 'test,' I didn't do much top stitching, and I didn't add the band at the hemline of each leg.
All in all, my few hours in the sewing room today were pretty productive I think.
