And a new Tea Garden T is complete--FINALLY. This is a lovely rayon lycra that I purchased not too long ago. It feels really nice! To stablize the hems (arms and body), I fused some knit interfacing (that still provided some stretch) so that when I sewing the coverstitch hem, there was no "tunneling."

I really love this pattern, but sewing the gussets seem to always give me fits. I mark well, but for some reason I seem to get "tucks" at the points and I have to rip out and go again. Finally, it all comes together, and it is worth the effort. This will likely be my Christmas day lunch top with the family.
Next up is a burda jeans jacket pattern. Stay tuned, and I'll share a photo of the fabric (not denim) later. I finished cutting it out this afternoon.
The chemo caps look wonderful, what fantastic thing to do! And that shirt is a great color red. Glad to hear you are feeling up to being back in the sewing room, hope your foot is healing up well!
ReplyDeleteThat is a really nice thing to do the great looking chemo caps. The nice red shirt reminded me I have a red rtw jacket that has to have the sleeves hemmed if I plan to have something to wear this season. I have about given up on getting something sewed from scratch. mssewcrazy
