Burda 8905 - Jean Jacket - The final

I completed the jacket a little while ago. I'm very happy to have this one done, and I'm very happy with the end result. I'm ready to sew another one before I refold the pattern to put it back in its envelope. I'll sleep on it, however, before I go digging through the stash for some more jacket fabric. How do you think the zipper version might look in red silk dupioni????

I thought I was going to have to stop and shop later for buttons, but I finally found some gold with blackish "carvings" that worked pretty well. I've had these in the stash for a l-o-n-g time. I think they came from Hancock's from one of their "sale bins" that you get to dig through to see if you can find more than one card of buttons alike. Sometimes, I find that kind of sale and "hunt" therapeutic.

I REALLY NEED to sew a pair of black slacks. My "go to" pair are showing wear and age. But....black slacks are not great fun to sew.

Promise to post a photo of me wearing the jacket, but today has been a blaa, sweats only day at the house--not fit for pictures!

  2. Your jacket turned out fantastic! That fabric is to-die-for! And I think it would look just gorgeous in a red, also. Great job!
