More Yarn Arrived

Here is the latest shipment of yarn. It arrived a couple of days ago. This came from yarn.com. I LOVE their clearance section. There seems to always be such a variety. This is silk or silk blend. Thinking of making scarves or cowls. I have to have something very soft against my neck; otherwise it doesn't get worn. Anything with the slightest bit of "itch" to it drives me crazy.

Speaking of cowls, I ran across this pattern and fell in love. I made this one, and I love how it turned out. The only drawback is that it has a itch factor to it. This one will probably go to a good home who is not as sensitive as I am. It is made from yarn from knitpicks.com and has some wool. It seemed soft to the touch of the hand when it arrived......

I have started a sleeveless shell from silk yarn that you saw a post or so ago. Actually, I have the back complete and just began working on the front a few evenings ago. Hopefully, I will feel like working on it more in a couple of days.

Tomorrow morning is the surgery on my left foot. I'll be happy to get it behind me so I can be "on the mend." The thing I dread most is not being able to get it wet. I LOVE a hot bath and wrapping/taping one's foot in a plastic garbage bag and hanging outside the tub is not real relaxing. Oh, well, that is just for the first week. I WILL survive that aspect even if I don't like it! ;-)

Sis will serve as animal feeder/caretaker since DH is on a walker due to his neuropathy. She is on the property next to us, so at least it is convenient for her.

I hope to be checking back in with you in a couple of days. Of course, no sewing for a while. What a bummer!

Happy New Year to all of you. I will welcome 2010 with ice and pain pills!

  1. Best wishes for a fast recovery. What a way to ed one year and start another! I'm sorry you won't be able to sew, but you do have some beautiful yarns to play with while you recoup! Good luck!
