Top a Month #7 is completed.
This is the Louise Cutting Hearts a Flutter Shell. If you are familiar with the pattern, you know that the darts come from the armhole. If you are unfamiliar with the pattern, this feature may be hard to see in this photo. Sorry for the hanger photo, but it's been a day; I promise to model at some point.
The pattern has a bottom band which I omitted. I taped that portion of the pattern to the upper bodice and cut as one piece.
The fabric is a mystery blend that I think I picked up in as ASG swap. I think it is probably rayon/poly. I love the color and had just enough fabric to cut this top. I've been on a roll this summer sewing sleeveless. I think it has to do with the 100+ temps.
I've used this pattern over and over. I still have the purple one on the dressform and keep promising myself I'll get back to it. Life has been a bit hectic, so right now, when I can make it to the sewing room, I need something simple without much thinking.
Working on another "simple." Stay tuned for another TAM shortly.
p.s. Rottie dog is scheduled for knee surgery this Thursday
Love your pretty top. I have made HAF shell. It was fun. I want to mae one now that I see yours. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThat pattern gets a lot of mileage, and for good reason. Your blue top is very pretty. Have you ever made or seen that pattern color-blocked? I think it would be super with maybe a black lower/white upper bodice. Or whatever color combos one likes.
