I have been following this discussion on Artisans Square with great interest. I have Nancy Zieman's book, Fitting Finesse, but never have really used the pivot/slide method for altering. I don't really know why.
Anyhow, this discussion and the wonderful information on clambaby's blog about her pants saga (I think the latest post on her blog about pants is on November 16 post) got me really interested in this book.
I found a used copy on Amazon, and it arrived yesterday. It is autographed by the author dated 1988. How fun is that? Nancy Zieman was a very young lady and working with "Sew/Fit" at the time. Here are some photos from the book of Nancy:

I got to spend about 30 mintues yesterday looking at the book. I find the level of detail very interesting. I'm glad to have it my my "collection."
