Blue Jacket Cut

Yesterday I went to my knitting class in the morning. On the way home, I ran a couple of errands and arrived home around 1 p.m. I really didn't have the sewing mojo going, but I did want to get started on the graduation outfit.

I pulled out my jacket pattern envelope only to find that one piece was missing. YIKES! I began retracing my last "cleanup" thinking perhaps I had put it into anther pattern envelope. Golly, I couldn't have thrown it away, could I????? And the trash guys had already picked up--so nothing left to pilfer through. Panic almost set in, but I did still have my muslin, so I *could* take the muslin apart and use that as a pattern.

Then I remembered when I was making the muslin, I had the window nearest the cutting table open. We had a nice breeze that day. HMM.. maybe it had blown off the table and behind a piece of furniture. Maybe???? Could I be that lucky???? After all, I had been looking for that one pattern piece now for at least 30 minutes.....

Yea!!!!! I found it--snuggled behind my little wooden sewing caddy--that sits next to the cutting table. I was doing the Snoopy happy dance!

So, after all was said and done, I cut out the jacket. I still wasn't much into the sewing mood, so I figured it best not to begin - I was afraid of mistakes. Sometimes it's just best to leave well enough alone for the day.

So.....I started a new pair of socks. I hope to have DD and DGD each a pair of socks completed to surprise them when we arrive in St. Louis. One pair is now started!

Dr. appointment at 10:30 today in Dallas, so won't get to the sewing room until afternoon.
