This McCall pattern 5586 was one I purchased at one of the last $.99 sales. I have had this fabric for a year or more. It came from Pursley's Discount Fabrics in Duncanville, TX. I bought it with DGD in mind, but I just never seemed to find the right pattern or come up with the right inspiration. As I was going through fabrics the other day, I picked up the fabric and this pattern came to mind. "Light and flowy" came to mind. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Close-up shots:
She will really like the crochet inserts. Since it's so light and airy, a cami will be required.
This pattern went together well. The pattern called for purchased bias to finish the armhole, but I used self fabric. I was afraid purchased wouldn't match and be too heavy for the fabric.
I can guess that she may ask for another from this pattern. I think she would like one with the "jewels" attached to the yoke. We'll see.
Beautiful top!
