2 Easter Dresses

Sorry I've been lax in posting. Life seems to have gotten busy and sewing hasn't really been a part of life lately.

Our ASG group was asked by a local CPS worker if we could provide 10 Easter Dresses for some of their little girls. We were happy to take on that task. They provided 10 names and the size of each little girl.

I took a size 3 and a size 4. Here's what I came up with:

Size 3:

This is a Burda WOF pattern. I don't have the issue in front of me so I will have to add the issue and pattern number later. Edited to add: The pattern is #135 from Burda WOF 3/2006.

The fabric is aqua on white eyelet that I purchased from Pursley's Fabric in Duncanville, TX a year or so ago. I think I bought it to make a blouse, but it was perfect for an Easter dress (and it's one more thing out of the stash). Here's a closeup of the 3-thread serged ruffle hem with rayon embroidery thread. I serged the edge once and then locked the blade and serged again so that I could get better coverage.

The Size 4:

Sorry the photo is a bit dark. It looks wonky pinned to my dress form, but it really looks like a nice little dress in real life. This was some left over pink seersucker with lace around the neck, sleeve hems, and hem. The buttons are little pink rosettes that were in my button box. Not sure for what they were originally intended. (?)

Today I gave the dresses to the lady who will deliver them to the CPS worker. Now I hope to finish DGD's T-shirt. I have begun work on it, but it will take a little time to complete. Of course, she lives in St. Louis, so she won't need a short sleeved T for a while longer. Are they covered in snow right now?

I dread the upcoming time change. Getting the animals on an adjusted feeding schedule doesn't happen over night. Oh well, we've all been through it before............but it gets harder for me each year. Am I set in my ways or what????
