I'm thinking of grilled cheese sandwiches and salad for dinner. I can just lay the bread with cheese on top on the front porch and it will melt in minutes!
Not much sewing last week. I worked at the Animal Hospital Wednesday - Saturday filling in for Doc's wife. She was at the University of North Texas (Denton, Texas) with #3 daughter getting registered and orientation.
The only sewing done was completing a pair of black scrub pants that I had started Monday or Tuesday. All that was left to be able to wear was to sew in elastic waist and hem. I wore them with the "horse" scrub you saw in an earlier post.
The order I had placed with Candlelight Fabrics arrived yesterday. Since they are going out of business, I decided I better get some nice fabric at sale prices. I got 2 pieces of Ambiance lining, 2 pieces of wool crepe for winter slacks and some of the silk knit pictured:

I've been wanting some silk knit for a while and have had trouble finding a print that I really liked that I felt I could afford. It feels so nice!
I also received a Burda pattern on Wednesday that I got from e-bay. I'll take a photo and add to this post later.
Could you send a little of that heat north to Alaska? We have had record low temps and need some good weather for our sanity before winter starts.
ReplyDeleteOh Tamara, how I wish I could! Send me some cool and I'll send you some heat!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are hot as blazes in the south but I think from the sound of this Texas does everything bigger including the heat. You could probably put the sun tea in a jar and sandwiches wrapped in foil and have a hot meal waiting when you got ready. Grilled cheese sandwich warmed outside and salad menu works for me. I am not about to turn on the oven here - outside heat for cooking is just fine. mssewcrazy
