I did the grocery shopping this morning (in the rain--and I hate loading groceries in the rain) and picked up some horse feed this afternoon (again in the rain). The horses have to eat, so what's a girl to do?---get out in the rain. When I go out to feed, the horses don't recognize me now if I don't have on my tall rubber boots--slosh, slosh, slosh out by the barn.
Oh, and I mailed off the shorts I made for the Sew Much Comfort organization mentioned in yesterday's post. I picked up two polo shirts to adapt and send off. They are in the wash as I type.
Sewing? Yes. I made this skirt pattern
into this skirt
for DGD. This burnout type fabric was from the stash that I had picked up at Super Textiles in Dallas last summer. I've seen the same fabric at higher end fabric shops for $9 or $12. I think I paid $4/yd.
Then I worked on a baby gift. I bought this pattern at least a year ago along with some 'on-sale' fleece. Have a friend with a baby boy due November; I think this will be a good gift along with some embroidered bibs. The wrap is not finished. Need to finish off the bias binding and add snaps--although I'm thinking of substituting buttons for the snaps. We'll see.
Maybe I'll to work on the adaptive shirt some this evening.
Oh, and to answer Dawn's question about the rolled hem on my gored skirt--Yes, I used the serger rolled hem.
