Working on it

The pink dress, that is. Slowly, but working on it. The zipper is in. I used the method shown in Threads 119 (July 2005) by Helen Metrakos. It came out really nice. I like this method of sewing the back seam stopping about 4" below what will be the bottom of the zipper. Interface the seams, sew in the zipper, then sew the remainder of the seam that had been left open. I had no lump/bump at the end of the zipper. I'll probably use this method until I find one I like better.

I raised the neckline about an inch. I thought since I did this I really would need a zipper, but I could have gotten by without it as the dress will go over my head without unzipping. Oh well, it was good practice, and if I have the need to step into the dress, I'll be able to do that.

The sleeves are next and then the hems. I think I'm going to like this one. Hopefully, I'll have photos tomorrow.

I haven't felt the greatest today. I have poison ivy again. I have discovered that there is some growing on the backyard fence. The dogs have been into it and then giving me the oils off their hair, nose, etc. I have it in some of the stangest places (back of my knees, on my elbow and the insides of both wrists).

So, in the next few days, I'll be dressing up in my "armor" to try to get it cut out so the dogs don't have any to get into. I hate this stuff and I can recognize it, but I'm getting it second hand now without knowing it. I'm waiting now for my "Anti-itch pill" to kick in.
