Low Key

It is a low key July 4 Independence Day for us. Sis and I had a late night at the animal hospital last night. One of her Boxers was in distress about 10 p.m. last night. We located Doc and were at the clinic about 10:30 p.m. God Bless him! He is our adopted brother. He felt she was having some reaction to a venom bite. Not totally uncommon for us out here in the country. Her dogs are basically house dogs, but do roam the fenced back yard so anything is possible.

Anyhow, he treated her, and we stayed until almost midnight for him to monitor her. So one of the things I do today is bake him a Chocolate Flan Cake. Someone brought him one, and he asked for the recipe so he could give it to me. He says "it's to die for" and he LOVES chocolate! I bake things as part of his "pay" since he seldom will let us pay.

Yesterday, I worked in the sewing room. I have a nice roomy cutting area now:

Then, when I'm done, I drop one of the sides for more room space. (don't you love the vacuum cleaner that hasn't been put away?)

I cut out Valerie's Top from some rayon lycra. Oh so soft. I was hoping this would be a wearable muslin. Something happened with the neck. My seam shows. I don't know if it's the drapiness of the fabric or if I sewed it wrong. I think I sewed it according to directions. Anyhow, I've sent Peggy an e-mail and I'm sure she will get back with me after the holiday.

As Paul Harvey would say, "Have a good day!"

I am so out of it -until I clicked the link I thought Valerie may have been your sister that you were sewing for. (chuckle here) I may have to spend some time on the Silhouette site as those are new to me. That is scary about the dog. I worry about mine when I walk them these days and they run in and out the grassier areas. I hope the boxer is going to be ok. mssewcrazy
