A dress, more patterns and cutting today

Below are photos of the little dress I completed yesterday for the Rainbow Room. The bow is in the front; the V neck in the back. I had this pink linen left over from about 2-3 years ago and the skirt is some left over cotton quilting fabric. Matched pretty well, huh? The dress is a little wrap around (if that is not clear from the photo).

After Curves today, I dropped by the Genesis Thrift Shop. Sewing patterns are 10 cents each there. These photos are just a sampling of what I picked up. Most of them are uncut. Who knows if I'll ever use them, but I've already enjoyed going through them and looking over the line drawings of the pattern pieces. Picked up 26 patterns for $2.60. Not bad, huh? Now to find a space to put them!

Later in the afternoon, I traced off two Kwik Sew dresses to make for my sister. I've already made both of them for me, but she needs a Large, where I need the Medium. I cut one of them out with fabric before I walked out of the sewing room. Right now, I'm thinking I can sew it up after dinner and animal feeding time, but by then, I'll probably decide I'm too tired and won't want to risk making mistakes. There is no rush on it, but I'd like to get it done this week for her.
