Experiment - going pretty well so far

Back in September or October, I downloaded the free "demo sloper" from PatternMaker.com after reading some success stories with the software. I have PMB and have had limited success. I still can't seem to get enough "driving room" across the back of my woven tops. (And, I'll admit, I haven't "experimented enough lately with it.) Anyhow, on with this story.

I made up this test sloper and was happy with the way the sleeves and back shoulder area felt.

So, with this fabric (from Hancock's 70% off sale--yes I'm REALLY OFF the wagon with my fabric buying this month), I decided to "give it a go."

I wanted the collar from this pattern:

So I retraced the "sloper pattern" and went to work on some modifications. I cut the neckline using the Butterick pattern and cut the collar out from that pattern. I shortened the sleeves of the sloper pattern, and away I went.

I'm happy with the feel of the fit. No pic yet as it is not finished, but I think it's going to work. I hope to get it complete this afternoon.

I have enough, (I think) for a pair of capris. I'm not sure if the whole outfit out of this fabric may not be "TOO much." I'll take that under advisement at this point.

Stay tuned!
