Thanks for the sweet comments about my Birthday Girl, Onyx. I am really enjoying her, and I think Bumper enjoys her for the most part. Those times she gets to be too much for Bumper, Bumper has a way of letting her know.
Yesterday I sewed a curtain for my niece. she had asked me to do this a week or so ago. She wanted solid maroon and she gave me specific measurements that she had taken. So, as luck would have it, I was able to get the lining when Hancocks had it on sale $1.99/yd and then I used my 40% off coupon for the maroon cotton/poly. The curtain rod was 30% off. Curtains are not always my favorite thing to sew, but I actually enjoyed the process yesterday.
They are all done and ready to deliver on Saturday.
I also printed out the princess "sloper" top version from Pattern Maker. I had to retake measurements as this trial version does not save them. And, of course, if I saved my previous measurements, I couldn't find them! I hope I get as good a fit from this one as the darted one. Not sure when I'll get a chance to sew it up.
Today is our guild charity sew day. We will sew childrens' clothing again for the Rainbow Room. I have a few things cut out so will be able to get to the sewing first thing. We get together around 10 a.m., break for our sack lunches and keep going until we get tired (but ususally not later than 3 p.m.).
Tomorrow is the Dallas Quilt Show and Market Hall Center. I plan to go for part of the day. I can't imagine that there will be that much "new stuff" that I have to buy as I think I've "bought most of it all already in years past." I WILL try to pace myself. Bringing more stuff home means I'll have to find a place to put it! Nevertheless, I'll let you know what happens!
