A few things from the Quilt Show

I enjoyed my time at the Dallas Quilt Show yesterday. Some of the quilts were just out of this world. The time, the technique...just wonderful. There was an Elvis quilt I would have bought if it had been for sale. It was just so unusual and well done! I was half way to the show when I realized I hadn't put my camera in my purse. Otherwise, I'd have a pic of that Elvis quilt!

Anyhow, on to the vendors. I bought a couple of patterns (you'll see below), a couple of booklets using the strip chenille, some handmade soaps (not pictured) and a Laurel Birch suede purse for SIL's b-day gift (not until December, but hey, shopping early is a good thing!).

The 24 gore skirt was made up in rayon batik--2 different beautiful greens (which the vendor didn't have in stock at the time). I've got to search out some rayon batik for this skirt.

I plan to make the wool felt pincushions (see the kit above) for some of my "quild" friends. I hope I stick to that plan. I get so many wonderful ideas at these shows--so much inspiration but don't always follow through.

I think the next big show in the area is the Martha Pullen coming up this summer - June, I think.
