We packed into my SUV (there were 6 of us on this expedition) and left our meeting place at 9:30 a.m. We arrived back at our meeting place at 5:00 p.m. Call it a day! We had a blast and no one came back empty handed. Eve was the heavy handed winner this time. I think it was 5 sacks (big sacks), but she'll have it sewn in no time. In addition to sewing sone for the public, she sews for herself, her DDs, DDILs and multiple DGCs. She does beautiful work I might add.
And buy the way, we did manage to sqeeze in lunch sometime after 1 p.m. Yes, we were starving!
I came home with 10 yds each FOE white and rainbow. The lady said the rainbow had just come in. I think they were .50/yd. Buttons for the WWII dress. Not exactly what I wanted, but close and they were .09 each and there was 25 of them--I think I need 22. Those big buttons I though would be good closures for totes/purses and at .26 each, why not?
Fabric? Found maroon fleece ($1.75/yd) for next year's house shoes for those Texas Aggie fans. There is a turquoise rayon knit (.99/yd.) for some T's. The kiwi/rasberry seersucker (I'm not sure you can see it well) is the softest!. Not sure yet what it will be, but I fell in love with the colors and the soft hand. It may end up Pj's who knows? I got 5 yards ($3.yd) at 60 wide so I'll have plenty for something! Had to have the paisley purple knit. It feels rayon/cotton maybe-- very soft (can you tell I'm in to comfort soft?). It was my splurge at $5/yd.
I like the striped ribbon. May use for totes or trim capris or both. Time will tell. And thats some off white silky bias binding next to the ribbon - probably for T's or pj neck finishings.
