Experiment blouse/shirt complete

It feels like a good fit! Have driving room across the back and the sleeves are comfortable without doing the "BATWING" thing really bad.

I'm going to print off the princess seam sloper version, too.

A row of the braid hit right at the hem area of the sleeve (but not in a good spot) so I took the braid off each sleeve. I thought I might resew it after hemming, but decided to leave it alone there. The only place I used interfacing was the collar. The fabric was heavy enough to sew the buttonholes well.

The buttons: I was determined to use some buttons I already had, but finding 5 that I thought looked good was not to be (in all those zippy bags of buttons that I have collected). So, I found the dark gray button and decided to "layer" a colored button on top. I just picked out colors I liked for the inset. I like the way it worked.

I still haven't decided on the capris yet. I'll probably go ahead and make them and see how I feel the outfit will look once it is finished.

If you notice the "spots" on the back of my left arm - it's the remants of the poison ivy. I've pretty much worn longsleeve T's out in public so I don't scare people. I finally wore a regular T to Curves this a.m.

We've had rain here today (which we badly needed), so the dogs were stir crazy this morning. It has cleared this afternoon so they have been able to go out and "pilfer" in the back yard which does their hearts (and my sanity) good.

Onyx will be 12 weeks old tomorrow. I hope to get a good photo of her to post. She now weighs in at 20 pounds (and she was the runt of the litter).

  1. Oh! I like it.

I know what you mean about the driving-room problem with PMB. It's one of my great frustrations with that product. I'll have to give the PatternMaker bodice a try sometime.

Your double-layer buttons are a great idea.
